RECRUITMENT OF PARTICIPANTS

• Recruitment and retention of patients in studies must be non-coercive

  • reimbursement and subsistence costs may be covered
  • however, coercive inducements (financial or other), either to parents or the child, are not appropriate

• An attempt must be made to recruit patients representing the demographics of the community, unless there is a valid reason not to
