Mercury Levels in Various Fish
FDA has undertaken
some recent further measurements of mercury in different types of fish. The table below gives mean, range and the
number of samples for the new fish species examined. The left part of the table contains the current data on the CFSAN
web site, the right part of the table contains the new (2002-2003) FDA data.
It should be noted
that some of the specifics regarding geographic location of sampling and types
of fish are not available for some of the data sets. This may in part explain
differences between the two sets of data.
