Grossly visible lesions of the cervix require
cervical biopsy for pathologic evaluations.
Grossly visible CIN 2 and CIN 3 lesions may
be associated with invasive squamous cell
carcinoma, usually microinvasion, and rarely
adenocarcinoma, in situ, or invasive
