MANAGEMENT OF ASC-US

Acceptable Options:

* Follow-up with repeat cervical cytology in 6 and

12 months; if ASC-US or more severe, refer to colposcopy.

* Perform HPV DNA testing for “high-risk” HPV types;

- if HPV negative: return to screening in 12 months

- if HPV positive: repeat cervical cytology in

6 & 12 months, if ASC-US or more severe, refer to

colposcopy. Use of HPV DNA testing in late follow-up.
