Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy G. Thompson, Global AIDS Coordinator Randall Tobias, and Acting Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Lester Crawford, announced an expedited pathway for FDA to review low-cost, safe and effective fixed dose combination (creating one pill out of two or three individual drugs), co-packaged (putting two or more pills into single packaging for distribution) and single ingredient HIV therapies for use under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
