All of the research performed at the National Center for Toxicological Research is
targeted to fulfill these strategic research goals in support of FDA's
public health mission:

Advance the scientific approaches and tools
to attain personalized nutrition and medicine for the American public

Develop science-based best practice
standards and tools to incorporate translational and applied
toxicological advancements into the regulatory science process to create
a seamless bench-to-bedside continuum

Develop and apply rapid detection
technologies and testing platforms to assure food safety, biosecurity,
food biodefense, and to combat bioterrorism

Modernize science management and
infrastructures to effectively and efficiently support NCTR/FDA goals

Enhance the technical expertise and
availability of trained health science research personnel to address
