chart showing risk of heart disease and breast cancer in women

Women in particular have been unaware of the extent of their heart disease risk. A women's lifetime risk of heart disease (1 in 3, or 32 percent) is far greater even than her risk of breast cancer (1 in 8, or 13 percent). Women, like men, should check their blood pressure and cholesterol levels, eat heart-healthy food, and be physically active.
