Evaluates validated methods and collaborates in the methods development of pharmaceutically active compounds and their metabolites in various edible and feeds matrices. Collaborated with a scientist in the development of sulfamethazine in egg tissues and three diuretic drug residues in milk. Will have a pharmacokinetic procedure for one of the diuretics. Also validated the analysis of barbiturates in dogfood, and was involved in a survey. Conducted method trials of quinolones in several aquatic species and gentian violet in poultry feeds. Performed an intra-laboratory validation of cephapirin and ceftiofur in milk. Analyzing milk samples dosed with cephapirin to compare screening assays to an HPLC procedure.
