DR. HENNEY SWEARING-IN CEREMONY

A swearing-in ceremony will be held for Dr. Jane E. Henney, the new commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), on Tuesday, December 15, 1998 at 1:45 pm in room 450 of the Old Executive Office Building. Dr. Henney will be sworn in by Vice President Al Gore. HHS Secretary Donna Shalala will also participate in the ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony is open to the press. Members of the media who wish to attend the event, but do not have a White House press pass, should contact the Vice President's Press Office at 202-456-7035.
