MEDIA ADVISORY;  TASK FORCE ON AIDS DRUG DEVELOPMENT TO MEET
     The National Task Force on AIDS Drug Development will meet
Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15, at the Sheraton National
Hotel, Columbia Pike and Washington Boulevard, Arlington, Va.
     The meeting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday
and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
     Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna E. Shalala will
deliver opening remarks from 8:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday.  
     During the meeting the Task Force will hear from several
invited speakers who will discuss AIDS drug development.  An open
public comment session is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on
Thursday.
     This will be the first meeting of the Task Force since it was
organized last fall to identify barriers to AIDS drug development
and make recommendations to the Secretary for overcoming those
barriers.
