Tobacco Products

State, Local, Tribal and Territorial Governments

The goal of the State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Governments website section is to increase understanding of: the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (Tobacco Control Act) and how it may impact your programs; tobacco product regulation as a subset of tobacco control; FDA’s authority as compared to that of your own jurisdictions' laws; as well as provide additional information about what the FDA Center for Tobacco Products does and does not do.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) intends to award sole source contracts to Indian Tribes for tobacco retail compliance check inspections.

CTP will hold a pre-proposal conference webinar to provide technical assistance on the Tobacco Retailer Inspection Contracts and to review the Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements. The webinar will also provide opportunities to learn about the application process and FDA’s tobacco retail inspection program. CTP invites Tribes and Tribal organizations to participate, provide feedback and ask questions about this funding opportunity and the program in general.

Date of Webinar:

Date: Thursday, April 16, 2015
Time: 1 – 3 pm EDT
Registration: http://bit.ly/FDA0416

Update: The April 1, 2015 webinar has been cancelled.

The following resources should provide State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial governments with information relating to FDA's authorities:
