Substantial Equivalance

 

With the passage of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (Tobacco Control Act), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was given the authority to review an application for a new tobacco product (or for proposed changes to existing products) before it can be marketed. Small Business Assistance


|The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (TCA) directs the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) to establish an office to assist small tobacco product manufacturers. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and CTP recognize that small entities often have difficulty accessing and interpreting regulatory and compliance information. In an effort to help small businesses, including small tobacco product retailers and distributors, obtain the guidance they need, CTP has created a small business assistance program in accordance with the Tobacco Control Act and FDA policy.  More information on Small Business Assistance...
