Guidance on Retailer Training Programs
FDA has issued two guidance documents related to retail training programs. The Tobacco Retailer Training Programs draft guidance assists tobacco retailers in developing effective training programs for employees. The Civil Money Penalties and No-Tobacco-Sale Orders guidance provides information on the penalties for violations for retailers with training programs that meet FDA standards and those without.
Enforcement Activities
To help ensure tobacco product retailers are in compliance with federal laws, FDA is working with state regulators to conduct compliance check inspections of retailers who sell tobacco products.
