Live Webcast – FDA's National Youth Tobacco Prevention Campaign
Each day in the U.S. more than 3,200 youth under age 18 smoke their first cigarette, and more than 700 youth under age 18 become daily smokers. Given that tobacco use remains the leading cause of disease, disability and death in the United States, we are pleased to announce the launch of our first national public education campaign to address the pervasive public health problem of youth tobacco use.
Today—February 4, 2014—at 9:30 a.m. ET, you can join us via live stream as we launch our first campaign designed to educate youth about the dangers of tobacco use and encourage them to be tobacco-free. We will also share insights into the evidence that is the foundation for this effort.
