This Week in CTP - The Great American Smokeout & BeTobaccoFree.gov

FDA invited tobacco users looking to quit to join the American Cancer Society’s 37th Great American Smokeout disclaimer icon  on November 15. The annual event aligns with one of FDA’s key goals – to encourage those already addicted to tobacco products to quit. Read CTP’s feature for more information, including facts on tobacco use and how to make a plan to quit.

The Department of Health and Human Services launched a brand new website showcasing their commitment to ending the tobacco epidemic. This comprehensive tobacco website, BeTobaccoFree.gov, provides a “one-stop-shop” for the best and most up-to-date tobacco-related information from across its agencies. This consolidated resource includes general information on tobacco, federal and state laws and policies, health statistics, evidence-based methods on how to quit, and much more.
