Tobacco Manufacturers, Growers and Warehousers Stakeholder Discussion December 8, 2010

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) held its second Stakeholder Discussion Series session with Tobacco Manufacturers, Growers, and Warehousers on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at:

Raleigh Marriott City Center

500 Fayetteville Street

Raleigh, NC, 27601

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) is charged with implementing the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (Tobacco Control Act) with the goal of reducing the tremendous toll of disease and death caused by tobacco product use.

In order to better ensure the opportunity for meaningful engagement and dialogue between CTP and tobacco manufacturers and growers, a limited number of individuals have been invited to actively participate in the discussion. This approach is based on feedback we have received from stakeholder input on the design of these sessions. Approximately 30 members of the public -- or additional representatives of the tobacco industry groups (including growers) participating in the meeting -- may observe the general sessions held in the main room at the meeting site. A conference line was also provided for additional people to listen via phone.
