FDA Issues Draft Guidance on the Use of Nanotechnology in Food for Animals

In June 2014, FDA issued a draft guidance to address various issues related to the use of nanotechnology in food ingredients intended for use in food for animals. FDA requests public comments on this draft guidance. This and other FDA guidance documents are being issued as part of FDA’s ongoing implementation of recommendations from FDA’s 2007 Nanotechnology Task Force Report.

The Agency requested comments on this draft guidance between the dates of June 27 and September 10, 2014. Although you can comment on any guidance at any time (see 21 CFR 10.115(g)(5)), the Agency is now considering the comments received as it prepares the final version of the guidance.
