FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- February 27, 2009 -- Professional Recreation Organization Inc is recalling 20/20 Lifestyles Peanut Toffee Crunch bars with best by dates of February 12th 2009, May 15th 2009 and September 26th 2009 because these bars were manufactured using peanut products recalled by Peanut Corporation of America because of potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

20/20 Lifestyles Peanut Toffee Crunch bars were sold from Professional Recreation Organization Inc’s Bellevue Washington, Redmond Washington, and Seattle Washington locations as well as from Professional Recreation Organization Inc’s online web stores at shop.proclub.com and shop.2020lifestyles.com.

Potentially affected Peanut Toffee Crunch Bars can be identified by the following Best By dates:

Best By February 12th 2009
Best By May 15th 2009
Best By September 26th 2009

Bars were sold individually, in 12 count boxes and in 144 count case boxes. Best By dates are located on the back of the bar wrappers and manufactured dates (1year prior to Best By dates) are located on the front of the 144 count case boxes.

NO KNOWN ILLNESSES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO DATE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PEANUT TOFFEE CRUNCH BARS. The recall was initiated after it was determined that the peanut products used in the bars came from the Texas division of Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) which was initially not thought to have been affected by the peanut recall from the PCA Georgia plant. Additionally, Professional Recreation Organization Inc was initially informed that no peanut products from any PCA plant were used in the production of our Peanut Toffee Crunch Bars.

Professional Recreation Organization Inc has informed the FDA of its actions and is fully cooperating with the Agency.

Purchasers of the Peanut Toffee Crunch bars with the above listed best by dates may return the bars to either our Bellevue or Seattle Professional Recreation Organization Inc locations for a full refund. For questions please call (425) 861-6251 between the hours of 8:30a.m. and 5:30p.m. Monday through Friday.

Peanuts for our next production run of 20/20 Lifestyles Peanut Toffee Crunch bars have been sourced from a new supplier and will be available for purchase mid March. Our 20/20 Lifestyles Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars and Chocolate Mint Bars are not affected by this recall.
