Grandpa Dons Conducts Nationwide Recall of Grandpa's Oven Santa Fe Snack Mix Because of Possible Health Risk
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE --Grand Rapids, MI -- February 19, 2009 --- Grandpa Dons LLC of Grand Rapids, MI is recalling Grandpa's Oven Santa Fe Snack Mix, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Grandpa's Oven Santa Fe Snack Mix was distributed in all states and major cities through retail stores.
Grandpa's Oven Santa Fe Snack Mix is packaged in a 12 oz. laminated film pouch with a clear window on the front of the pouch for product viewing.
