How often should follow-up on surgical and/or pathology results be conducted for patients with positive mammograms?

The regulations do not require that follow-up on surgical and/or pathology results for patients with positive mammograms be conducted any more frequently than once per year. However, facilities should conduct follow-up on a routine basis in order to ensure that cases are not lost to follow-up.
