Do masking view-scopes meet the masking requirement, even if their field of view is smaller than that of the size of the film?

The requirement is met as long as the masking view-scope can limit the illuminated area to a region equal to or smaller than the exposed portion of the film. If the field of view of the masking view-scope is significantly smaller than the area of visualized breast tissue we recommend that the facility have additional means of masking to allow the interpreting physician the ability to view and compare both breasts at the same time.
