| Dear Sir or Madame,
I am writing to you today to register my objection to using fetal stem cell lines for producing viral vaccines. As a public school teacher, I obviously support vaccine production and usage, but know that it can be done without fetal cell lines from abortions. It is my understanding that the lines you are considering using are from aborted babies from the 1960's. In my mind, the date of abortion is irrelevant since it sets a precedent for use of aborted fetal tissue as accepted practice in research and vaccine manufacturing. Please know that many US citizens and citizens of the world honor and respect human life in all its forms, from the single cell to the complex organism. I urge you to not allow industry or academia to further exploit human life, whether cellular or fully developed. We are a nation that has been built on kindness, respect and freedom for all peoples. Please do not contribute to tarnishing the reputation of the United States of America or to jeopardizing our standing before Almighty God. Thank you for allowing public comment on this important issue. Sincerely, Linnea M. Sands | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
