Dockets Management

The Division of D ockets Management (DDM), formerly known as Dockets Management Branch, serves as the official repository for the administrative proceedings and rule-making documents for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), an operating division of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

Dockets

  • In accordance with the President's eRulemaking Initiative, FDA dockets are being migrated (pdf) to the Federal Dockets Management System (FDMS) at Regulations.gov (see our Information Website for more information).
  • See Instructions for submitting comments to FDA Dockets Open for Comment not yet migrated to FDMS. 
  • During the migration period, a docket will remain in DDM for searching, viewing, and downloading documents until it is migrated.

  • Effective January 15, 2008, the Division of Dockets Management will no longer publish a daily list of documents entered into our database due to FDA's transition to FDMS. Daily listings prior to January 15, 2008 can be accessed below.

Important Notice 

Data Migration of Dockets to FDMS 1999 thru 2008 Complete

In accordance with the President's eRulemaking Initiative, FDA is in the process of transitioning from the FDA Dockets Management System (DMS) to the Federal Dockets Management System (FDMS) located at Regulations.gov (see FR announcing this transition).  This new system will allow consumers to more readily access important material, including Federal Registers, Petitions, supporting documents and comments. 

As soon as the migration is completed (an anticipated migration date of April 2008), the information noted below will be available to you via regulations.gov.  However in the interim, you may contact the Public Reading Room of the Division of Dockets Management at 301-827-6860 to obtain information on the following materials that have yet to be migrated:

  • Comments that have been filed to a specific docket
  • Dockets open for comment
  • Dockets closed for comment
  • Dockets that are closed (final decision has been made)
