Re: Sansone's Seafood Market, Wilmington, Delaware
HACCP Warning Letter dated July 8, 2004
Dear Ms. Bonner:
This letter is in response to the above-referenced warning letter. I request that this be posted on the Food and Drug Administration's ("FDA") website pursuant to the pilot program announced in the Federal Register of June 23, 2003.
I am the principal operator of Sansone's Seafood Market ("Sansone's"). The letter incorrectly characterizes Sansone's as a "seafood processing facility." Sansone's is primarily a retail establishment which sells seafood to the general public. Sansone's is not a "crab picking" facility as suggested by the investigator whose report prompted the FDA's July warning letter.
In any event, as you have acknowledged, any deviation from the HACCP regulations noted in the warning letter were found to have been corrected during the FDA's inspection of Sansone's on January 6, 2005. Therefore, the allegations of the warning letter are no longer accurate.
Please be advised that this letter contains no confidential business information of Sansone's which requires redaction by the FDA. Accordingly, I request that the letter be posted promptly on the FDA's website.
Very truly yours,
/s/
T. James Sansone
