January 10, 2013 –– Abbott Nutrition is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Criminal Investigations (OCI), and other law enforcement officials to recover a single shipment of infant formula product. The shipment was picked up in Burlington, Vermont and stolen in Ft. Worth, Texas. It was scheduled for delivery in Dallas, Texas.

Only a small quantity of lot # 231029V00 was in the stolen shipment. Additional cases of the lot have been shipped to customers through normal distribution channels. All cases of lot # 231019V00 were in the stolen shipment.

Organizations and consumers should purchase Abbott Nutrition infant formula from well-established reputable retailers, wholesalers, and distributors. Always inspect products and labels for Use-By dates and signs of tampering before opening. Abbott's infant formulas are packaged in "tamper-evident" containers, meaning that if the package has been opened, it will be evident.
Product lot numbers are printed on the product containers and shipping cases, and can be found on the bottom of each powdered product can.
