January 10, 2013 –– Abbott Nutrition is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Criminal Investigations (OCI), and other law enforcement officials to recover a single shipment of infant formula product. The shipment was picked up in Sturgis, Michigan and stolen in Elmhurst, Illinois. It was scheduled for delivery in University Park, Illinois.

Only small quantities of the product lots were in the stolen shipment. Additional quantities of each product lot have been shipped to customers through normal distribution channels.
Product Information
Organizations and consumers should purchase Abbott Nutrition infant formulas from well-established reputable retailers, wholesalers, and distributors. Always inspect products and labels for Use-By dates and signs of tampering before opening. Abbott's infant formulas are packaged in "tamper-evident" containers, meaning that if the package has been opened, it will be evident.
Product lot numbers are printed on the product containers and shipping cases, and can be found on the bottom of each powdered product container or on the back of each liquid product bottle.
