FDA Notification of Stolen Drugs from Bryant Ranch Prepack Facility in North Hollywood, California

FDA posts press releases and other notices from firms as a service to consumers, the media, and other interested parties.

Issued: February 28, 2011

On October 3, 2010, burglars broke into the Bryant Ranch Prepack facility located at 12623 Sherman Way, Unit A, in North Hollywood, California and stole thousands of units of drugs, including controlled and non-controlled drugs. Although some bulk products were stolen (Phenergan w/Codeine (CV) syrup) it appears that the majority of the products stolen were drugs that had already been repackaged for delivery. The new packaging consists of small bottles (containing a range of 20-120 tablets or capsules each), with labeling on the bottle detailing the drug name, dosage form, and the address of the Bryant Ranch facility.

Stolen drugs can be harmful because it may have been stored at the wrong temperature or humidity or other improper conditions, may degrade or lose potency, become contaminated, or may have been tampered with or handled improperly while outside of the legitimate supply chain.

Anyone who has information regarding this incident or has received suspicious or unsolicited offers for the products identified below, after the date of the theft, is encouraged to contact the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Criminal Investigations at 1-800-551-3989 or by visiting the OCI Web Site at (http://www.fda.gov/OCI).
