Install JRE 1.7

1. Delete all versions of JRE from your machine
   • 1.1. Open ‘Control Panel’ then open ‘add/remove programs (XP)’ or ‘programs and features (Windows7)’, find and uninstall all versions of JRE currently installed. Example screen from Windows 7 shown below.

2. Clear Cache
   • 2.1. If you have Windows7 and Vista machine: Delete “Deployment” folder from “C:\Users\[local user]\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java”
   •  
   • 2.2. If you have Windows XP machine: Delete “Deployment” folder from “C:\Documents and Settings\[local user]\Application Data\Sun\Java”
   • 2.3. Restart your machine.
3. Download and Install JRE 1.7 (32 bit only)
   • 3.1. Go to the Oracle downloads page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
   • 3.2. Scroll down to “Java section and click on JRE DOWNLOAD button (Java SE7u15 is the latest version as of this publication date, any subversion of JRE7 will work with ESG)
   •  
   • 3.3. On the next page check the radio button for “Accept License Agreement”
   •  
   • 3.4. Select “Windows x86 Offline” install file (jre-7u15-windows-i586.exe in this case) and save it to your desktop
   •  
   •  
   • 3.5. Go to your desktop (or to the location where you saved the JRE install file from step 3.4
   • 3.6. Double click the downloaded JRE install file to begin the installation and select “Install” on the pop-up screen.
   •  
   • 3.7. Select “Close” to close the Java Setup dialogue box
   •  
4. Disable Java automatic updates
   • 4.1. Open Control Panel, then open Java
   •  
   • 4.2. On the Java Control Panel Pop-up click on “Update” tap and then uncheck “Check for Updates Automatically” check box
   •  
   • 4.3. Select “Do Not Check” button on the Java Update – Warning pop-up and pop-up closes
   •  
   • 4.4. Select “Apply” button then “Ok” button to close the Java Control Panel pop-up
   • 

Install JCE files

5. Click on the following link, download, and save JCE files on to your desktop JCE7.zip 
   • 5.1. Unzip the downloaded file (JCE7.zip) to your desktop – this will create “JCE7” folder on your desktop
   • 5.2. Open the folder that you just unzipped and copy the 3 files in it
   •  
   • 5.3. Paste the 3 copied files into:
     • 5.3.1. XP users: “C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\lib\security” folder
     • 5.3.2. Windows7 or Vista users: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\lib\security” folder
     •  
     • 5.3.3. Please note that security folder contains 3 files with the same name so you have to select “copy and replace” to overwrite them. Please make sure the dates of the 3 files match the screen below after you copy 3 files.

Install Cache

6. Download the Deployment.zip file to your desktop: Deployment.zip  
   • 6.1. Unzip the downloaded file to your desktop – this will create “Deployment” folder on your desktop
   • 6.2. Copy the Deployment folder into:
     • 6.2.1. 6.2.1. XP users: “C:\Documents and Settings\[local user]\Application Data\Sun\Java”
     • 6.2.2. Windows7 or Vista users: “C:\Users\[local user]\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java”

7. Your computer is now ready for ESG use.
