Biography:
- Joined FDA Division of Federal State Relations (DFSR) in December 2010
- Consumer Safety Officer: Manufactured Foods Regulatory Program Standards (MFRPS) Specialist in the Development and Integration Branch
- Office: Indianapolis, Indiana. FDA Indianapolis Resident Post, Detroit District
- Provides regulatory program leadership support to state programs, federal partners and other stakeholders to enhance Federal-State communications
- Working in DFSR to further develop the MFRPS and outreach programs as part of FDA’s mission and ongoing initiatives regarding federal-state integration and building an integrated food safety system
- Working with State Food Protection Task Forces to build and populate websites to improve communications with all food and agriculture stakeholders
- Working on Federal-State Integration deliverables of the Food Safety Modernization Act
Prior to FDA
Hamilton County Health Department- Food Safety Program 8 years as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (R.S.) conducting retail/wholesale food inspections and finally serving as Program Director
Indiana State Department of Health- Food Protection Program 11 years as a retail/manufacturing food inspector, food defense program coordinator, project manager, and public health administrator
- Served a one-year detail at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Food and Agriculture Sector Specialist in the Office of Infrastructure Protection
- Developed partnerships between government and industry to accomplish homeland security goals
- Developed information sharing processes for the Sector
- Led the DHS/FDA/USDA Information Sharing Workgroup 2008-2009
- Chaired the AFDO Food Protection and Defense Committee 2005-2009
- Chaired the Indiana Food Safety and Defense Task Force 2004-2009
- Coordinated emergency response activities for ESF 8 at the IN State Emergency Operations Center
- Coordinated the Interstate Food Transportation Assessment Project for IN
