FDA to Extend Comment Period on Updates to the Redbook

In response to requests, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is extending the comment period for updates to the Toxicological Principles for the Safety Assessment of Food Ingredients (also called the “Redbook”). The agency is extending the comment period by 180 days, to May 11, 2015.

The original request for comment, Toxicological Principles for the Safety Assessment of Food Ingredients; Public Meeting on Updates and Safety and Risk Assessment Considerations, appeared in the Federal Register of October 30, 2014. The FDA also held a public meeting on December 9, 2014, to allow opportunity for public input on updates to the Redbook.
