Slide Presentations from Food-Safety Metrics Workshop Available On-line

Slide presentations from the March 30 public workshop entitled Measuring Progress on Food Safety: Current Status and Future Directions are now available.

The public workshop was the first in a series being held collaboratively by the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. With input from food-safety experts and other stakeholders, the agencies are addressing the development of feasible, effective metrics for assessing progress in food safety. 

Data from such metrics reflect the effectiveness of government and industry policies and interventions, and help guide the development of policies and programs. 

Future workshops in the series will be announced in the Federal Register, Constituent Updates, and the FDA Calendar of Events, among other venues.
