Finding of No Significant Impact

A food contact notification (FCN No. 913), submitted by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., to provide for the safe use of 1 butene, polymer with 1-propene as a component of articles intended for use in food contact applications.

The Environmental Review Team has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and, therefore, will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information, including an environmental assessment, dated June 19, 2009, in the notification submitted by the notifier and other information known to the agency.
