Finding of No Significant Impact

Finding of No Significant Impact

A food contact notification (FCN No. 807), submitted by Xylex Limited, to provide for the safe use of a mixture of sodium chlorite & sodium chloride for use as an antimicrobial agent in water or ice that is used to rinse, wash, thaw, transport, or store seafood in accordance with current industry standards or good manufacturing practice.

The Environmental Review Team has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier in the notification, including an environmental assessment, dated March 4, 2008.
