Attached is the revised Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for FCN 415. This FONSI supersedes the FONSI dated June 17, 2004. We revised the FONSI to reflect the change in the identity of the food contact substance.
When this notification becomes effective, this FONSI and the notifier's revised Environmental Assessment, dated June 11, 2004, may be made available to the public.
Please let us know if there is any change in the identity or use of the food-contact substance.
Finding of No Significant Impact
A food contact notification (FCN No. 415), submitted by Tetra Pak, Inc., to provide for the safe use of a blend of LDPE and LDPE grafted with vinyltrimethoxysilane containing up to 50% LDPE grafted with vinyltrimethoxysilane for use in fabricating multi-laminate beverage containers.
The Environmental Review Group has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier in an environmental assessment dated June 11, 2004.
