Attached is the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for FCN 368. When this notification becomes effective, this FONSI and the notifier's environmental assessment, dated August 15, 2003, may be made available to the public.

Under format item 7 of the EA submitted with FCN 368, there is a reference to Attachment 16. The information that is referred to is actually incorporated into the notification in Attachment 12.

Please let us know if there is any change in the identity or use of the food-contact substance.

Finding of No Significant Impact

A food contact notification (FCN No. 368), submitted by Dupont Dow Elastomers LLC and The Dow Chemical Company, to provide for the safe use of ethylene/butene-1 copolymer containing up to 40 weight percent polymer units derived from 1-butene as a component of articles in contact with all types of food.

The Environmental Review Group has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier in an environmental assessment dated August 15, 2003.
