Finding of No Significant Impact
A food contact notification (FCN No. 292), submitted by Gordon Burns and Robert Ellsworth to provide for the safe use of cross-linked terpolymer of 1-vinylimidazole, 1-vinylpyrrolidone and 1,3-divinylimidazolidinone, also known as polyvinylimidazole, as a component of filter media, for the removal of metals and sulfides in alcoholic beverages using repeat-usage filtering equipment.
The Environmental Review Group has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier in an environmental assessment dated October 7, 2002.
