Finding of No Significant Impact

A food contact notification (FCN No. 215), submitted by Chevron Philips Chemical Company, LP to provide for the safe use of poly(ethylene-methyl acrylate-cyclohexenylmethylacrylate) as a component of articles used in contact with dry food containing no surface fat or oil and as a non-food contact layer of laminate structures. The multi-layer articles include flexible films, containers made of paper and paperboard, and rigid containers, except for PET and HDPE bottles. The limitations are described in the March 1, 2002 acknowledgment letter to the Notifier.

The Environmental Review Group has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier in an environmental assessment dated Decemeber 28, 2001.
