Finding of No Significant Impact

A food contact notification (FCN No. 174), submitted by Polyplastics to provide for the safe use of copolymers produced by the polymerization of 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid in the production of films, sheets, and articles made therefrom used in the fabrication of food-packaging materials intended for single service and repeated-use applications, but not intended for use in the manufacture of bottles that may contact food.

 

 

The Environmental Review Group has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier in an environmental assessment dated August 21, 2001.
