This report was released at the Subcommittee hearing on "Problems with FDA's Monitoring of the Milk Supply for Animal Drug Residues" on August 5, 1992. The report reviews (1) the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) and the states' efforts to test for and control animal drug residues in milk and (2) FDA's extra-label drug use policy. The report makes recommendations for improving milk monitoring to the Commissioner of Food and Drugs.
