|Gelysate or peptone||5 g|
|Yeast extract||3 g|
|Bromcresol purple||0.02 g|
|Distilled water||1 liter|
Heat until dissolved. Dispense 5 ml portions into 16 × 125 mm screw-cap tubes. Autoclave loosely capped tubes 15 min at 121°C. Screw the caps on tightly for storage and after inoculation. Final pH, 6.8 ± 0.2.
For halophilic Vibrio spp., add NaCl to a final concentration of 2-3%.
