EC Broth

Trypticase or tryptose 20 g
Bile salts No. 3 1.5 g
Lactose 5 g
K2HPO4 4 g
KH2PO4 1.5 g
NaCl 5 g
Distilled water 1 liter

Distribute 8 ml portions to 16 × 150 mm test tubes containing inverted 10 × 75 mm fermentation tubes. Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Final pH, 6.9 ± 0.2.
