Motility-Indole-Ornithine (MIO) Medium

Yeast extract 3 g
Peptone 10 g
Tryptone 10 g
L-Ornithine HCl 5 g
Dextrose 1 g
Agar 2 g
Bromcresol purple 0.02 g
Distilled water 1 liter

Dispense 4 ml portions into 13 × 100 mm tubes. Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Final pH, 6.5 ± 0.2.
