Shigella Broth

Base

Tryptone 20 g
K2HPO4 2 g
KH2PO4 2 g
NaCl 5 g
Glucose 1 g
Tween 80 1.5 ml
Distilled water 1 liter

Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Final pH, 7.0 ± 0.2.

Novobiocin solution

Weigh 50 mg novobiocin into 1 liter distilled water.

Sterilize by filtration through 0.45 µm membrane. Add 2.5 ml concentrate to 225 ml base.
