BAM Media M167: Tryptose Broth and Agar (for serology)

Bacteriological Analytical Manual

Difco Bacto tryptose20 g
NaCl5 g
Dextrose1 g
Agar15 g
Distilled water1 liter

Weigh ingredients, add water, and mix. Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Swirl to disperse molten agar. Final pH, 7.2 ± 0.2.

For broth, omit agar from formulation.
