From the Capital Beltway I-495, take Exit 28A (New Hampshire Avenue North). Enter the campus by turning right onto Michelson Road. (Michelson road is located at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Northwest Drive.)
Silver Spring Metro, Ride-On and Metrobus
For participants traveling by the metro subway system to the Silver Spring Metro Station, the Ride-On bus number 22 operates during peak hours between the Silver Spring Metro Station and the White Oak Campus. The number 22 Ride-On bus departs bus stop “N” on Dixon Avenue approximately every 20 minutes from 6:15 am until 9:05 am. This Ride-On bus will take you directly to Building One on FDA’s White Oak Campus in about 18 minutes.
The Ride-On bus also travels to the Silver Spring Metro during evening peak hours leaving from Building One on the White Oak campus starting at 3:17 pm until the last trip at 6:52 pm. The evening trip takes about 23 minutes. During non-peak hours, when the Ride-On number 22 does not operate between Silver Spring and the FDA Campus, FDA operates an FDA Shuttle marked “W & T Travel Services.” Look for the FDA Shuttle marked Silver Spring. This shuttle operates between the Silver Spring Metro Station and Building One on FDA’s White Oak campus beginning at 9:15 am with the last trip departing from the White Oak campus at 4:05 pm. The FDA Shuttle also uses bus stop “N” on Dixon Avenue at the Silver Spring Metro end. Participants in the public forum on November 5th will be allowed to use the FDA Shuttle on that day only. Please identify yourself to the driver as participating in the FDA public meeting taking place that day in order to ride the shuttle.
Metrobus also operates the C-8 (College Park-White Flint Line) with a stop on New Hampshire Avenue right outside of the White Oak Campus. The C-8 provides service to White Oak all day. A complete schedule for The C-8 Metrobus schedule is available on the WMATA web site.
Visitor Parking at White Oak
Visitor parking is currently available in the Southeast surface parking lot on the White Oak campus. This can be accessed by following the yellow Visitor Parking and Event Parking signs located along Southwest Loop Road. To get to this visitors parking lot from New Hampshire Avenue, turn from New Hampshire Avenue onto Mahan Road. From Mahan Road, make a right turn onto Southwest Loop Road and follow this past Building 51 and the Southwest Parking Garage. After passing the Southwest Parking Garage, continue traveling on the two-lane undivided section of Southwest Loop Road. The entrance to the Southeast surface parking lot is located on the left-hand side of the road before you get to the East Loop Road. (See map attached.) An FDA Shuttle Bus (Bus Stop and Shelter as shown on the attached map) is available from the Visitor Parking Lot for those who don’t choose to walk. Visitors should take the shuttle or walk to Building One to pass through security.
Taxi Cab Service
Taxi Cab service at White Oak is provided by Barwood Taxi. Visitors may call Barwood at 301-984-1900 and give their location as 10903 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, 20903. Visitors may use the guards’ desk number, 301-796-0004, as the callback number when calling for a cab. Barwood drivers are familiar with the White Oak campus and will pick up passengers in front of Building One.
