Marketing Status - The following guide explains the marketing status categories used in the tables below:

  • OTC - Product is in over-the-counter marketing status and is not impacted by Guidance for Industry #213 (GFI #213)
  • OTC* - Product is currently in over-the-counter marketing status, but it may transition to Veterinary Feed Directive marketing status in December, 2016 as a result of compliance with GFI #213; once the transition is complete any production claim associated with the medically important antibiotic  (e.g., increased rate of weight gain and feed efficiency) will be removed from the label
  • OTC - Product is currently in over-the-counter marketing status, but its application may be withdrawn by December, 2016, unless a therapeutic claim is approved by CVM before that date
  • VFD - Product is currently in Veterinary Feed Directive Status.  This product falls under the authority of the VFD Rule effective October 1, 2015.
