On November 7, 2001, Investigator Karen Robles from FDA's San Francisco District Office presented the FDA's Illegal Drug Residues in Meat & Poultry Program at the Pacific/Southwest Region Milk Seminar held in Reno, Nevada. Opening remarks were provided by Brenda Holman, FDA's Pacific Regional Director. There were representatives from the dairy regulatory programs in 22 States, as well as 130 attendees at the tissue residue presentation, including veterinarians, dairy producers, and State regulatory officials. Topics included program objectives, tissue residue follow-up inspections, and the most common causes of illegal drug residues. Materials provided included FDA and the Veterinarian booklets and press releases covering recent injunction cases.
