FDA Veterinarian Newsletter November/December 1999 Volume XIV, No VI

In the August 27, 1999, Federal Register, FDA announced that it is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of menadione nicotinamide bisulfite (MNB) in diets of growing and finishing swine as a nutritional supplement for the prevention of vitamin K deficiency and as a source of supplemental niacin. This action was taken in response to a food additive petition (FAP 2239) filed by Vanetta S.p.A.. Additional information is included in Federal Register and from Michaela G.
