On October 7, 2010, the Committee heard and discussed presentations on the publicly available industry documents as they relate to the issue of the impact of the use of menthol in cigarettes on the public health, including such use among children, African-Americans, Hispanics, and other racial and ethnic minorities.

Interested persons were allowed to present data, information, or views, orally or in writing, on issues pending before the committee.
• Written submissions were to be sent to the contact person on or before
September 30, 2010.
• Oral presentations from the public were scheduled between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on October 7, 2010. Those desiring to make formal oral presentations notified the contact person and were asked to submit a brief statement of the general nature of the evidence or arguments they wished to present, the names and addresses of proposed participants, and an indication of the approximate time requested to make their presentation on or before September 22, 2010.
