Advisory Committee Membership

Overview and General Information on Advisory Committee Membership

As part of the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) ongoing efforts to recruit qualified experts who are interested in serving on FDA advisory committees, FDA is requesting nominations of individuals to serve as members of its advisory committees. FDA seeks to include the views of women and men, members of all racial and ethnic groups, and individuals with and without disabilities on its advisory committees and, therefore, encourages nominations of appropriately qualified candidates from these groups.

  • Advisory Committee Nomination; Modification to Process for Collecting and Posting Curricula Vitae -- FDA is modifying the process by which we collect and post curricula vitae (CVs) of advisory committee members so that the CVs will be posted to our Web site without removing or redacting any information.  Posting CVs without removing or redacting any information will increase the transparency of FDA's selection of officials who serve on advisory committees, and will ensure greater public access to the qualifications of advisory committee members on an ongoing basis.  All updated CVs for existing advisory committee members will be required to be submitted to FDA along with the required consent form after March 8, 2017.  Click on the title above to see FR publication with full details on FDA modifying the process on the collection and postings of CV for advisory committee members.
  • Proposed Collection; Comment Request; Collection of Nominations for Candidates To Serve on the Food and Drug Administration's Advisory Committees-- FDA or Agency is announcing an opportunity for public comment on the proposed collection of certain information by the Agency.  Under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1955 (PRA), Federal Agencies are required to publish notice in the Federal Register concerning each proposed collection of information and to allow 60 days (April 7, 2017) for public comments in response to the notice.  This notice solicits comments on FDA's process for collecting nomination of candidates to serve on FDA's advisory committee.  Click on the title above to see FR publication with full details on how to comment on this proposed change.
